Well, it's been a hell of a year, and there has been a whole lot of work going on. In my last project of my culinary school career, I have been chosen by my team to be, what else, the computer guy. The main assignment right now is to create a catering company, and cater an event that has been prechosen by that crazy Frenchman that calls himself my instructor.
My assignment is to create a wedding at a winery (any winery, I can choose) where there will be 200 people attending. My company has to do EVERYTHING, not just the food. We have to rent the facility, do the decoration work, plan a menu, coordinate the wedding, and anything else that I am not thinking about right now. For this, I (since my primary role as the computer guy is to enforce the budget) have been given a budget of $150 per person. Overall, things are coming into place. It's not all that bad this week, but next week the shit hits the fan, and I have to start cranking out spreadsheets again...
My grand competencies were all done without an issue, although I did have some sabotage going on for my plated practical exam. I made it through my restaurant production class (which basically tests everything I've learned all year) and made it out relatively unscathed (just a bit tired)...

Have you chosen a winery yet? There were so many nice ones in Napa and Sonoma. I am partial to Joseph Phelps and Bueno Vista.

We're actually going to have to do a winery in the east bay or Alexander Valley, since they're generally cheaper (they're lesser known) than either Napa or Sonoma, and I'm on a tight budget...

Gotchya. Well you'll have to post a link to the vineyard you ultimately choose. Good luck!

I never would have thought that $30K was a "tight budget" for a wedding, but then again, I've never gotten married before. For 200 people, I think I'm doing a decent job of it....
