I've been providing spiritual advice to my friend Peter for thirteen years now. We're about ready for a Bar-Mitzvah, for crying out loud! Not too long ago, he repayed the favour by introducing me to the latest VH-1 "reality" show, But Can They Sing? where different celebrities (actors, really) try to sing various popular songs.
One particular contestant, Chinese actress Bai Ling, has been making a whole career out of parading around in various states of undress. It all started with her version of Madonna's Like a Virgin (which I admit, was quite scarring). Last week, it was Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. This week, it was the Ramones' I Wanna Be Sedated. I used to be a huge punk fan back in the day, and as such, the Ramones are like Sid & Nancy: sacred. That was painful. Peter, one of these days I'm gonna kick you "squah" in the nuts for getting me hooked on this...
