The New York Times had an article the other day regarding some individuals in New York who are eternally unemployed. The interesting thing is that I've seen a lot more of these people since I moved to the west coast. While it's no secret that people out here are not as fast-paced as those back east, it really startles me just how lackadaisical these people are, and how disinclined they are to actually do anything.
Granted, it may be different when your bills are all paid for you, and you are not incented to change anything. Out here, being motivated means bartending four nights a week. I'm really surprised that people have managed to get by for so long, in spite of being so unbelievably clueless.
What's up with these people? I slacked off for about a year, and it took work to be that lazy, real work. These people are drinking five dollar lemonades and ten dollar waters, while some of us are working hard at maintaining our slackitude. What is becoming of our world?

I remember them. Wow, they've been around for a while. I'll see your church of the subgenius, and raise you one Landover Baptist Church. That site is a hoot...
