Well, this weekend has definitely proven to be a bracket-busting weekend for me. My final four predictions were not impacted at all until today, but this is what makes things so exciting.
First, the Kansas Jayhawks were downed by Bucknell (I admit, I've never heard of Bucknell either, and I follow college basketball). If that wasn't enough, Syracuse was brought down by Vermont. Of course, this was entirely due to the fact that Syracuse was playing at the high-school level.
The gods of basketball have spoken, and they have decided that the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest University, despite their best efforts, simply didn't bribe the officials as much as Duke does, so they were sent packing as well. This is all for the good though. Wake has advanced as much as they have only due to questionable calls that wound up going their way, not because they're really a good team (although I will admit that simply competing in the ACC puts them miles above anything else in the country).
I must say that the biggest joy I've had thus far in the NCAA's is the absence of Dick "Duke" Vitale. God how that man gets on, in, through, and beyond my last nerve.
