This week is protein week in skills. We're doing a series of "Iron Chef" competitions. The competitions are not quite the same as what the show has, as we know what the ingredients will be (although we're not quite sure of the cuts), and we theoretically have more time to plan.
Well, my team won both yesterday and today, where the ingredients were chicken and pork respectively. Not bad for a Jewish guy from New York, and a Muslim guy from LA. The menus we produced are:
Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce
Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast
Coq Au Vin
Pork Medallions with Apple-Cranberry Chutney
Grilled Pork Chop with Chasseur Sauce
I personally made the marinade for the grilled chicken breast (based on my friend Peter's mother's recipe), the chicken Satay and the pork medallions. I'll post some of the recipes soon...

As a texture eater, I have my doubts about apple-cranberry chutney but chicken satay sounds amazing!

Man, oh man, Rabbi, I can't believe how popular my mom's chicken marinade has become. Feel free to post the recipe if you want. I may do the same at my site.
